Internal resonance and energy transfer of a cable-stayed beam with a tuned mass damper

This study considers a novel nonlinear system, namely cable-stayed beam with tuned mass damper (cable-beam-TMD model), allowing the description of energy transfer among beam, cable and TMD. In this vibration TMD is involved one-to-one-to-one internal resonance modes investigated when external primary occurs. Galerkin’s method utilized to discretize equations motion cable. way, set ordinary differential are derived, which solved by multiple time scales. Then steady-state solutions system obtained using Newton–Raphson continued pseudo-arclength algorithm. The response curves, histories phase portraits provided explore effect on behaviors model. Meanwhile, partially coupled cable-beam-TMD model ignoring TMD, also studied. characteristics two cases compared each other. results reveal occurrence
